A beautiful Mexican tradition passed down thru generations…

  • Huaraches are a style of summer sandal made of cow skin, hand-strapped by an artisan with tire, EVA or plastic soles.

    Each pair of huaraches made is authentic and unique which, together with all our traditions, remind us how beautiful Mexico is.

  • To this day, Huarachero artisans continue to use traditional techniques for their production, which have been used by their grandparents and their grandparents' grandparents.

  • The huarache is part of the traditional Michoacán clothing in combination with its straw hats, the embroidered blanket dress, the bandana and the monfarlan, which make the state of Michoacán an authentic state full of traditions and crafts, of which the huaraches They stand out for being comfortable, handmade footwear ideal for all occasions.

  • The process of a leather huarache is divided into 8 parts:

    1- Straightening

    2- Topstitching

    3- Plant chopping

    4- Assembly

    5- Correllado

    6- Seating

    7- Gluing of sole

    8- Finishing, which consists of decorating and applying a layer of Boston or Lacquer on the leather to protect it and give it shine .

  • The average time in making a kwarachi is 2 to 3 hours, which are carefully made and reviewed, in order to make a durable handmade shoe, with great texture and quality. A large part of the leather huaraches are made in Sahuayo, Michoacán, commonly known as the capital of the huarache since 50% of its population is dedicated to this sector.

    Each pair of huaraches made is authentic and unique which, together with all our traditions, remind us how beautiful Mexico is.
